YOSA Philharmonic brings the magic of the movies to the concert hall in Cinema Classics on November 2, 2025, showcasing the powerful role orchestral music plays in film. 

Get swept away by the music that brings movies to life! From the spooky thrills of Night on Bald Mountain (Fantasia) to the exciting sounds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, YOSA Philharmonic explores the powerful connection between orchestral music and film. Hear the drama, beauty, and excitement behind legendary movie moments, plus a special performance by YOSA Sinfonietta Strings

The second annual A Holiday Spectacular on December 20, 2025, brings together live orchestra, ballet, and chorus for a one-night celebration of the season! 

Ring in the season with music, dance, and joy! YOSA Philharmonic teams up with School of Ballet San Antonio, Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, and YOSA Concertino Strings for a festive family night featuring highlights from The Nutcracker, holiday favorites, and a visit from a jolly North Pole conductor.

Join YOSA Philharmonic for America at 250 on March 1, 2026 for a powerful program that marks 250 years of independence with music and poetry that reflect the nation’s spirit, struggle, and soul.

Highlights include William Schuman’s New England Triptych, Adolphus Hailstork’s Fanfare on “Amazing Grace”, and a new bass trombone concerto by Sterling Maffe featuring guest soloist Ilan Morgenstern. Former San Antonio poet laureate Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson joins the orchestra with original poetry inspired by Margaret Bonds’ Montgomery Variations, and YOSA Intermezzo Strings make a special appearance.

YOSA Philharmonic’s Shostakovich Five on May 10, 2026, closes the season with music that stirs, challenges, and inspires.

YOSA’s season finale of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 is a gripping journey from darkness to triumph. The program also features Crown Imperial by William Walton, a solo performance by the 2025/26 Concerto Competition winner, and a special appearance by YOSA Capriccio Strings
