Programs

YOSA musicians experience instruction from San Antonio’s most respected professional musicians and music educators, perform in professional concert venues, build skills that transfer to future success, and make lasting friendships with their peers.

  • YOSA Orchestras

YOSA Orchestras for ages 8-20 include opportunities for strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians.

  • Group of young musicians in blue shirts holding cellos and violin with an adult, standing in a room with art on the brick wall behind them.

    YOSA Summer Symphony Camp

Camp opportunities for band and orchestra take place in summer. Registration for camp opens in mid-February each year.

  • A large group of people posing for a photo in front of a historic castle with a tower and flags, under a cloudy sky.

    YOSA International Tours

Every other year YOSA goes on an international tour. Musicians get the chance to broaden their views of the world, explore, and perform in famous venues abroad.

  • Group of seven people, some holding musical instruments, standing in a line in a room with light-colored walls and hardwood floor, smiling at the camera.

    YOSA Rising Star Fellows

Rising Star Fellows is a program that maximizes the potential of promising young musicians of color and creates pathways to top-tier higher education.

  • Large school orchestra group of young students in formal black attire with string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, posing outside Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, a historic building with arched windows and stone façade.

    YOSA Invitational

Each year, the YOSA Invitational welcomes more than 1,000 students from 16 local schools to the Tobin Center during the two-day festival to rehearse, perform, and record on stage.
