The 2020 YOSA Invitational will give 20 local school bands and orchestras the chance to record and perform in the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts’ renowned H-E-B Performance Hall, San Antonio’s premier concert venue, free of charge to all participating ensembles.
This is a perfect opportunity to capture a topnotch recording of your group and to feature them in one of America’s most beautiful concert halls. The Tobin Center’s H-E-B Performance Hall—the home venue of the San Antonio Symphony, Opera San Antonio, and YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio)—is a state of the art concert venue with widely acclaimed acoustics. YOSA is pleased to offer this opportunity free of charge to all participating ensembles.
Participating groups will enjoy:
40 minutes of warm-up, tuning, and preparation in the Tobin Center’s Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater.
40 minutes of performance and recording on stage in the Tobin Center’s H-E-B Performance Hall.
Professional audio recording and photography.
Free admission for parents and other audience members.
Who can apply:
Orchestras and concert bands from middle schools and high schools within a 75-mile radius of the Tobin Center in San Antonio are eligible. Multiple programs from the same school may apply, but only one ensemble from a given school will be invited to participate. YOSA will invite 20 middle school groups and high school groups to participate in the 2020 YOSA Invitational.
How to apply:
The application for the 2020 YOSA Invitational is now closed. Applications for the 2021 YOSA Invitational will open in February 2020.
