Annette Solano

YOSA Sinfonietta Strings Conductor

Annette Solano began her 20th year of teaching in the fall of 2022. Her orchestras have consistently received high honors at UIL C&SR contests. She has served as a conductor for the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio in 2009, conductor for the YOSA Summer Camp from 2008 to 2016 and has served as Director of YOSA Summer Symphony Camp for Youth Orchestras of San Antonio since 2017. Ms. Solano has served as Region 12 Orchestra Treasurer from 2004 to 2014. At Eisenhower Middle School, she serves as the Fine Arts and Electives Department Chair. She has been honored with the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award and has twice been the campus nominee for the NEISD Trinity Award. Ms. Solano earned a BA in Music Education in 2003 and a M. Ed in Educational Leadership in 2006 from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While a student at UTSA she was a founding member of the UTSA String Project under the direction of Dr. Eugene Dowdy. Ms. Solano is a proud member of Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and Texas Orchestra Director Association (TODA).
