Annette Solano

YOSA Sinfonietta Strings Conductor

Annette Solano is in her 23rd year of teaching, with orchestras that have consistently earned top honors at UIL Concert and Sightreading contests. She has been an active leader in the San Antonio music community, serving as conductor for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio in 2009, conductor for the YOSA Summer Camp from 2008–2016, and Director of the YOSA Summer Symphony Camp since 2017.

From 2004–2014, Ms. Solano served as Orchestra Treasurer for Region 12. At Eisenhower Middle School, she is the Fine Arts and Electives Department Chair. Her dedication to students has been recognized with the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award, along with two campus nominations for the NEISD Trinity Award.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (2003) and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership (2006) from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she was a founding member of the UTSA String Project under the direction of Dr. Eugene Dowdy.

Ms. Solano is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, and she serves on the board of the Dellview Music Foundation. She and her husband, Jason Thibodeaux, enjoy spending time with family, friends, and their three pups—Jax, Buddy, and Chica.
