Help YOSA Play On!

Through uncertain times, YOSA will not stop working to change kids’ lives through music. We have adjusted our strategies so that, during this time of need, YOSA continues to engage young musicians and inspire the community.

  • Music making continues! A suite of interactive online resources offers an outlet for young musicians to play music, collaborate with each other, and learn from professional musicians and music educators. Visit the YOSA Plays On webpage to learn more.

  • We will offer a “virtual” YOSA Summer Symphony Camp, July 13-17, 2020. The one-week session will give young musicians the benefits of camp (playing music, advancing skills, making friends) without putting anyone in harm’s way. More information is available at www.yosa.org/camp.

  • Free private instruction for low-income musicians continues. Lessons have moved to online formats like Skype, Facetime, and Zoom.

  • Families of YOSA Rising Star Fellows continue to receive monthly support. YOSA offers monthly gas cards and grocery cards to support families of our Fellows while they pursue advanced music studies.

  • We seek new ways to inspire the community through music. Music has the power to bring a sense of calm in troubling times. We continue to search for innovative ways to bring music to San Antonio.

Donations allow YOSA to continue to engage young musicians and inspire the community, and will help us come back strong when the current situation has passed.
