Kathleen Boyd

YOSA Prelude Strings Conductor

Kathleen Boyd is currently in her 10th year teaching orchestra for Northside ISD and 5th year as conductor of the YOSA Prelude Strings. She was a YOSA musician from 2004 to 2008 and later served as an instructor at the YOSA Music Learning Center and a faculty member at YOSA Summer Symphony Camp. While earning her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Mrs. Boyd was Assistant Director for the UTSA Main Campus String Project. After graduating in 2013, she was the founding orchestra director at Dr. Joe J. Bernal Middle School in NISD where she taught for 9 years. Mrs. Boyd is now the orchestra director at Health Careers High School.

Mrs. Boyd has served as a guest clinician for the Region 12 Bravo Orchestra and has worked with Performing Arts Abroad to teach music to children in San Jose, Costa Rica. She performs regularly as a cellist in the San Antonio area and is a member of Texas Orchestra Directors Association(TODA) and the Texas Music Educators Association(TMEA).
