The following information is for the 2017/18 season.

Q. Where are auditions held?

A. June 1-6, 2017 auditions will be held in the Music and Arts Building at UTSA (1604 Campus).

Q. How much is tuition for the year?
A. Tuition varies depending on the orchestra. There is a $125 deposit due at the time the placement is announced and then eight monthly payments (Sept.-April)

Q. When is the tuition assistance application due for the season?
A. Tuition assistance application information will be sent at the time audition results are sent by June 30, 2017. All tuition assistance applications will be due by July 14, 2017.

Q. When and where are rehearsals?
A. YOSA Prelude Strings: Sundays from 2-3 p.m. at University of the Incarnate Word
YOSA Capriccio Strings: Sundays from 4:30-6 p.m. at University of the Incarnate Word
YOSA Sinfonietta Strings: Sundays from 2-4 p.m. at University of the Incarnate Word
YOSA Flute Choir: Tuesdays from 7-8:30 p.m. at St David’s Episcopal Church
YOSA Repertory Strings: Sundays from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at University of the Incarnate Word
YOSA Concertino Strings: Tuesdays from 6:30-8:45 p.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church
YOSA Symphonic Winds: Sundays from 6-8:30 p.m. at UTSA
YOSA Symphony: Sundays from 6-8:30 p.m. at UTSA
YOSA Philharmonic: Sundays from 2-5 p.m. at UTSA

Q. When will we find out our audition results?
A. Information will be sent via email by June 30, 2017.

Q. Do we need to bring our own instruments to rehearsal?
A. Yes.

Q. What if we have conflicts with the time an orchestra meets?
A. Every audition is carefully considered for placement in the appropriate YOSA orchestra that will advance the musician in a stimulating environment. Once you have been placed in a YOSA orchestra, we highly recommend resolving any conflicts. If conflicts can’t be resolved, please contact the YOSA office or email auditions@yosa.org.

Q. How many concerts are there a year?
A. There are 3 regular season concerts a year for each ensemble. The YOSA Philharmonic also performs in other concerts throughout the year as well as offering other opportunities to perform throughout the season.
