YOSA (Youth Orchestras of San Antonio) invites San Antonio vocalists and/or bands in any style to submit video auditions for the opportunity to be guest artists for Hotel California Live, scheduled for March 12, 2018, at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

Hotel California Live is the fourth installment in YOSA’s Classic Albums Live concert series, following OK Computer Live (June 2014), Abbey Road Live (March 2015), and Purple Rain Live (March 2016). The concert will feature 12 different guest artists (bands or solo vocalists), each covering one song with a full symphony orchestra on stage in the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts’ H-E-B Performance Hall in a complete performance of the Eagles’ 1976 album Hotel California, plus at least four other Eagles songs. Here is a sample performance from a previous show, to demonstrate the concert format:

Bands or solo vocalists are eligible to apply for consideration if at least one participating musician is a current resident of Bexar County, Texas.

  • Record a video performance of an Eagles song. Feel free to make the song your own—show off your style. Solo vocalists may be accompanied by live musicians or pre-recorded backing tracks in their videos. Song must be drawn from one of these albums by the Eagles:
    1. Hotel California
    2. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)
    3. Eagles Greatest Hits, Vol. 2
  • Upload your video to YouTube, Vimeo, or another web-based video hosting service. Videos may be posted publicly or privately (unlisted).
  • Submit application [found below], including a link to your video, no later than Friday, December 15, 2017.
  • All applicants will be notified of their status no later than Monday, January 22.
  • The full guest artist lineup will be publicly announced on Monday, January 29.
  • Submitting a completed application and video does not guarantee an invitation to participate. YOSA will be the sole and final arbiter of which guest artists to invite.

      • Guest artists selected to participate in the concert must be available for rehearsal in San Antonio on Sunday, March 11; sound check in the morning and final dress rehearsal in the afternoon on Monday, March 12; and the concert on the evening on March 12.
      • YOSA will provide all production and logistical support, including orchestral arrangements, accompanying musicians (orchestra, with drum set), backline amps and PA, catering at rehearsals and concert, marketing and promotion, all audio and tech crew, payment of mechanical and performance license fees, etc.
      • Guest artists will receive a monetary honorarium and complimentary tickets. Concert ticket proceeds benefit YOSA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
      • Artist agrees to allow YOSA to produce, distribute, and/or sell audio and/or video recordings of the live performance. Artist also agrees not to use drugs or alcohol at any point in the rehearsal or performance venues.
