Philharmonic Cellist Wins Our Part of Town Talent Show

Michael Villarreal, a cellist in the YOSA Philharmonic, was the first place winner of the Our Part of Town Talent Show in his age division. Competing with 29 other districts, Michael took home the $1,000 cash prize.

Michael played W.H. Squire's "Tarantella." The talent show encompasses all talents from dancers to vocalists and is sponsored by Time Warner Cable and San Antonio Parks and Recreation. His performances are on Time Warner Cable channel 988 and TVSA.

"I feel very grateful for winning and appreciate the support of my family, friends, sponsors, instructors, and Antonio Strad Violin. Our Part of Town has helped me with my performance skills. Working with the camera and stage crew was a learning experience. I met a lot of great people there."
