Cecille Sorio Accepted into Voelcker Biomedical Science Academy

Posted March 25, 2010

Cecille Sorio, a violinist in YOSA's Philharmonic and a ninth grader at The Atonement Academy, was one of 60 students accepted into the second class of the Voelcker Biomedical Science Academy.

The Voelcker Academy is a prestigious, three-year opportunity to engage in university-level biomedical research at the UT-Health Science Center campus. The program provides a unique opportunity for local high school students to experience and learn about the world of biomedical research in a manner that is usually reserved for graduate level students.

Congratulations to Cecille on her accomplishment. For additional information on the Academy, you can visit the UTHSC's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences site.
