Longtime Arts Supporter Lois Oppenheimer, Passes

Lois Isabel Goldsmith Oppenheimer, a strong supporter of the arts in San Antonio, passed away on July 13, 2010. She was 91.
Oppenheimer was known for her commitment to the arts in San Antonio and was a longtime annual YOSA donor through the Harris K. and Lois G. Oppenheimer Foundation. In addition, Oppenheimer had a 70-year relationship with the San Antonio Symphony and was the stepdaughter of the founding conductor, Max Reiter. She wrote an article about her stepfather, which can be found on The Handbook of Texas Online.
After the death of her husband in 1978, she stepped in as president of their company, Halo Distributing Co., running the beer distributorship for eight years.
