Preparatory Ensembles
YOSA Symphony
Rehearsals: Sundays 1 - 4 p.m. at UTSA Main Campus (1604)
YOSA’s intermediate-level full orchestra provides an excellent launching pad into full-orchestral repertoire giving students an opportunity to perform at a more advanced level. Overnight music retreat to Mo Ranch in Hunt, Texas included (August 20-22, 2010).
Memberships Fees: $100 down payment (due August 2, 2010) and $48/month (Sept-April)
YOSA Sinfonietta Strings
Rehearsals: Sundays 4:10 - 6 p.m. at UTSA Main Campus (1604)
The most advanced of YOSA’s three string orchestras gives the opportunity for student musicians with emerging talent to hone their skills in an ensemble environment prior to advancement to the YOSA Symphony.
Memberships Fees: $100 down payment (due August 2, 2010) and $41/month (Sept-April)
YOSA Capriccio Strings
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Castle Hills
Offers an ensemble environment for students with two to three years of string-playing experience. Members should be proficient at reading music and prepared to learn intermediate-level techniques.
Memberships Fees: $100 down payment (due August 2, 2010) and $39/month (Sept-April)
YOSA Prelude Strings
Rehearsals: Tuesdays 6 - 7 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Castle Hills
An entry-level string ensemble designed for students with one to two years of playing experience. This is usually their first experience performing in an ensemble with the full compliment of string instruments playing independent parts.
Memberships Fees: $100 down payment (due August 2, 2010) and $37/month (Sept-April)
