Audition Music for Returning Members
YOSA members for the 2009-10 season should have received an e-mail with a link to your audition music. If you have not received the audition music and you were a 2009-10 YOSA member, please call the YOSA office. Please note that the audition excerpts sent to you are based upon your 2009-10 YOSA membership. Students who are hoping to move to a more advanced orchestra should focus on their solo piece as the primary vehicle for displaying their level, rather than asking for a different excerpt. While excerpts are important, the level of skill and musicianship demonstrated in the solo piece will be the largest factor in determining placement of string students..

Auditions include:
1. Two minutes of a prepared solo that best demonstrates your playing ability (your choice)
2. Major and minor scales with arpeggios
3. Orchestral excerpts (selected by YOSA)
4. Sight reading

Percussionists: Percussionists will only need to perform the provided orchestral excerpts and possible sight reading. No solo or scales are required.
