Nile Mendoza Wilson, a native of the Philippines, graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Education from St. Scholastica's College in Manila.

Nile also earned a Master of Science Degree in Secondary Music Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Before immigrating to the United States in 2001, she served as a music educator and professional orchestra musician in her home country.
