Alexis von Biedenfeld

Alexis von Biedenfeld began playing the cello at the age of three. She performed with the Texas All-State Orchestra and Greater Houston Youth Orchestra in high school and was a member of the Campanile Orchestra while completing her B.A. at Rice University. Ms. von Biedenfeld taught in the Parker Elementary strings program before making the decision to enhance her teaching experience by accepting a language instructor position in Japan, where she gave several community performances. She then moved to Honolulu, where she earned an M.A. at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and served as principal cellist of the Oahu Civic Orchestra. Currently, Ms. von Biedenfeld teaches privately and plays with the Orchestra of the Incarnate Word.
