Margaret Hager, originally from Denver, Colorado, moved to San Antonio from Colorado Springs, where she played viola in the Colorado Springs Symphony for eight years. She worked for the San Antonio Symphony as the assistant to Music Director Christopher Wilkins, and later was the Operations Administrator at the Symphony.

Margaret attended Alaska Methodist University and the New School of Music in Philadelphia, and also lived, worked and studied German in Graz, Austria, subsequently participating in a summer festival in Tyrol for a number years.
