James Hrom graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy. He continued his education at UAB pursing a Master's of Science in Public Health with a concentration Research Outcomes. Before moving to San Antonio he gained experience with youth orchestras working with the El Sistema inspired program Scrollworks. At Scrollworks he spent 3 years serving as Chief Operations Officer and Program Director.
